With 20 years dedicated to strategic communications and engagement for science and innovation, Dan has supported some of the UK’s leading researchers and worked with higher education, charities, industry, UK Government, and the NHS.

Before joining Campus PR in 2023, Dan built and led in-house teams at the University of Oxford, the Medical Research Council, and the British Science Association, where he managed the UK’s National Science & Engineering Week for several years. During the pandemic, Dan served as communications lead for one of three UK national priority clinical trials of Covid-19 treatments - at the time the world’s largest trial of GP-prescribed drugs.

Dan particularly enjoys writing about research collaborations with non-academic partners and is passionate about inspiring trust in scientific evidence. He has advised on and collaborated in stakeholder engagement for research priority-setting projects, and has co-authored original academic research in this area. His experience spans complex and sensitive topics such as animal research, tobacco addiction, Covid-19, and obesity.

Dan has a BSc (Hons) in Medical Microbiology and postgraduate diplomas in Science Communication and Public Relations.
