The brief

The Cyber Economics Insight project uses complex economics to model the myriad of factors that affect cybersecurity outcomes. The team produces accessible insights that are applicable to both policy and business strategy.

The team wanted help to better communicate the complex topic of cybersecurity economics to businesses and regulators. The goal of the project was to better position academics for research collaborations, partnerships and consultancy opportunities. This is so their research insights could be used to help real-world business strategies and digital security policies.

Our approach

Communications strategy

We worked with the research team to develop a comprehensive communications and engagement plan. This focused on knowledge exchange as an outcome, with three core areas of activity:

  1. Seeking speaking opportunities at industry forums

  2. Contributing insights-led and opinion pieces in B2B trade media

  3. Joining relevant expert technical advisory groups to co-produce cyber security guidance and inform policy.

Messaging and videos

The team wanted new messaging and three videos for their website.

  1. We crafted benefit-driven key messaging to help attract new partners and external collaborators.

  2. We created scripts for three explainer animations aimed at policymakers and businesses, working closely with an animator to storyboard and produce each one.
